                                                 Mike, a resident of Oahu for over 40 years, is a graduate of Punahou School and holds an  accounting and economics degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara.  He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Enrolled Agent (EA), licensed by the US Treasury to represent clients before the IRS, and is a graduate of the National Tax Practice Institute.

He is past president of the Hawaii Chapter of the International Association of Financial Planners (now known as the Financial Planning Association) , served on its board for 5 years and was twice voted the Outstanding Member of the Year.  He served as a director of the Hawaii Society of Enrolled Agents, as treasurer and director of the Hemophilia Foundation of Hawaii, director of the Board of International Advisors of Business Network International, a member of the finance committee of the Honolulu Waldorf School and currently is the treasurer and a board member of the Lyon Arboretum Association.
